To me,a big "yes" not sure abt others,in case of emergency, example powertrip or during power shutdown maintenance wrk at our flats,it plays a big part.Heard lot of fatality cases where hobbyist didnt hv one on standby when there was a powertrip or last min power shut shutdown.
Iam using ranger model, which can ran abt 8-9hrs on high mode, didnt try on low mode before, guess it could last longer, cheers
>depend if how often ur hse electric trip...
cos when it trip, does ur tank got enough DO to last ur fishes until u back home?
>I do use AC/DC air pump too.
Got an experience of electric trip dont know for how many hours.....
But luckily when I got home, all my arowana was still ok.
From that time on, i started to use AC/DC air pump.
The thing is that you will never know when electric trip will happen.
It will only take 1 bad day for accident to happen...so better be safe than sorry.
Anyway what is the cost of AC/DC pump compare to our arowana.
So to me is a BIG YES to use AC/DC air pump
>yup. better to be safe then sorry. Im using the dymax one connect to a single airstone and another regular airpump to another airstone. If power failure one will be still running.
>Battery life will deteriorate. Be warned...
>thanks for all comment, ya, it really make sense that it is very useful. esp dealing wit aro keeping which our dear fish is highly valued.
actually its like tis, at first i heard one of my fren using, he followed the instructions of the seller, but the pump went malfunctioned... not even a year, mayb just as mr aro-spino mentioned, the battery will worn out. and its not cheap. so when v discussed, only i know the existance of this product.
so, i hop to get advice from all senior here, and mayb later find a gud and reliable brand here.
